Design a York U Physics T-Shirt
Welcome back and Happy New Year!
Let’s kick off 2015 with some new physics swag for the department: Custom York U Physics and Astronomy T-Shirts! What will they look like? Well, it’s up to you! We will hold a design competition in which you can submit a logo/picture/design that you want on the T-Shirt, and then we will have a vote to choose the winner. The design should be original, but can be based on other ideas. It can be humorous, serious, or whatever you want, but should have association with our York U Physics and Astronomy department. Ideally, it should be kept to 1-2 colours, preferably just black/white.
Once the votes are counted, the person who submits the winning design will get his/her T-Shirt for FREE! The cost of ordering the T-Shirts will be determined once we have chosen the design, but will likely be around $15 each.
Email us your design for the T-Shirt (in whatever file format works for you) within three weeks, by Friday January 30th.

Keynote Speaker at PAGE Conference: Itay Yavin
We are excited to have York U alumni Itay Yavin give an exciting Keynote talk at the PAGE Conference on Oct 31st 2014.

Title: Dark matter as a fundamental particle
Abstract: In this talk I will review past and present ideas about dark matter as a new fundamental particle, exploring both the underlying theoretical structures as well as the variety of experimental frontiers. Along the way I will try to give you a flavor of some of the most recent developments as well as future plans and prospects.
